Royal Caribbean is one of the better cruise lines; their ships are clean and updated frequently, their food and service impeccable. The entertainment provided is family-oriented and first class – there’s something for everyone aboard a Caribbean cruise ship from awesome bars to late night casinos, to beautiful swimming pools and first class restaurants. Really good Royal Caribbean Cruise deals can be found, if you know when and where to look.

A cruise doesn’t have to break the bank, you just have to decide your budget and stick to it. Added costs incurred will be for alcoholic beverages onboard, and a tip is always given to waiters, cabin attendants and others who have served you well at the end of the cruise. Take this expense into account – you can do without the alcohol but you should always tip the attentive and friendly staff who come from every country in the world to work on Royal Caribbean cruise ships to serve you.

An inner cabin is the cheapest accommodation onboard a cruise ship, they have little space to move around in and no window. If you have claustrophobia they are not for you, but they are what I always opt for. I sleep in my cabin and get changed, that’s it. I personally don’t need a state room with a balcony. Next step up is a cabin with a porthole, but once you’ve seen the water for a few hours out at sea, there’s not much too exciting about it, unless you want to watch the land coming up.

Step up to a stateroom, or a deluxe cabin and you are talking big bucks, for those that can afford them, good luck to you. For me, I just like cruising and getting the best possible deals.

The best deals do come the later you book. Large agencies buy blocks of Royal Caribbean cabins wholesale and can often offer them for reduced rates, but the closer it gets to sailing date, the cheaper they get with both the cruise line and the agencies, as they don’t want to be left with empty cabins.

Very often onboard credits come as an incentive, and can add up to a few hundred dollars and can be spent at retail outlets onboard. Use them on the last day as some of the shops will have amazing bargains. Last time I went I couldn’t believe the deals, plus I could use my onboard credit to buy shoes and apparel.

If you have plenty of time, try waiting until the very last minute, but remember you have to get from where you live to where the cruise is leaving from! I live in Florida, so I have a choice of many cruise lines that go to the islands, Mexico and South America from both the east and west coast.

I’ve gotten some awesome Royal Caribbean cruise deals that way, I didn’t really care where I was going – I just enjoy the cruising experience. There’s some places I don’t even disembark – the Royal Caribbean ships themselves are so awesome, it’s great to wander around and look at everything while most of the occupants are traipsing around run down Nassau or Cozumel. Ahh but Royal Caribbean’s private island – that’s where I do get off and enjoy the real Caribbean in all her splendor.
